When we created Heard, we knew that it would be an amazing – and more importantly – useful tool to help people connect, especially at music events like gigs and festivals. So, with the help of some of the amazing people behind North by Northwich we’ve decided to host our own event to show people exactly how Heard works and how they can get the most from it. And have some fun along the way as well.
There was only ever going to be one place to host our first event – our home town of Stockport. It’s a town with a rich musical heritage and a really vibrant scene, so we’re delighted to announce Mercury Climbing.
Mercury Climbing is an eight day music and arts festival, centred in the heart of Stockport in the historic Old Town. We’ve got music from some amazing acts, comedy and more. They will also be an an exhibition from the brilliant Bands FC in Stockport Museum. And if that wasn’t enough the awesome Tim Burgess will be bringing his Vinyl adventures record fair to town and doing a DJ spot for us too – how good it that?!
We’ll be using Heard to let people know what’s going on, share exclusive behind the scenes pictures and gossip, and even run some competitions to give away some money-can’t-buy prizes.
This has been a real passion project for us, and it’s so good to see our home town excited for something new. Keep an eye out in the next few weeks for more announcements, and we’ll see you in September.
